CLUB NEWS
CHARITY NEWS
Jill Clark took over as President of the Club on July 1st. Her first event is to be a tea party jointly hosted by herself and new Rotary Club President Denis Power-Neads on 18th July.

A full programme of events has been planned for the year ahead and it is hoped to include more social as well as fund raising events as the year progresses.
Nearly £4000 was been raised during the Club year 2009-10 to support local, national and international charities.
These charities include the following:
   -The Alzheimer’s Society (including a specific donation to the Newark Dementia Club).
   -The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.
   -Water Aid.
   -The Newark Breast Care Appeal.
   -The Rosie May Orphanage in Sri Lanka.

Charities chosen for support so far in 2010-11 are:
   -The British Heart Foundation
   -The Stroke Association
   -The Swaziland Charitable Trust.
